We leave the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain at 2,962m, behind us and make our way towards Austria. Through the Bavarian Alpine foothills with its picturesque villages and crystal-clear waters, past Lake Achensee and its fjord-like landscapes, we enter the beautiful Inn Valley. Finally you reach Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. This city is surrounded by majestic mountains and offers a wealth of cultural and natural sights.
We head south, where another border awaits. The Brenner Pass is a historically important crossing between Italy and Austria and is still one of the most important north-south connections today. The route takes you past vineyards, along winding roads through the picturesque valleys of the Dolomites and offers breathtaking views. Cortina d'Ampezzo, a famous ski resort in the north of Italy and venue of the 1956 Winter Olympics, is our destination for today's stage.
Once again we are enchanted by the spectacular roads through the mountains of the Dolomites. At the Predil Pass we cross the Italian border and enter the Triglav National Park in Slovenia. We follow the crystal-clear Soca, known as one of the cleanest rivers in Europe, to reach the Slovenian Adriatic. Arriving in Piran, you will experience the Mediterranean charm of this enchanting town. The old town is known for its narrow streets, pastel-colored houses and breathtaking views of the sea.
From the picturesque coastal town of Piran to the magical Plitvice Lakes, one of Europe's most beautiful natural wonders. This stage promises breathtaking roads, impressive landscapes and the freedom of motorcycling in the midst of nature. Immerse yourself in the magical world of waterfalls and lakes, surrounded by lush forests. An adventure that perfectly combines culture, nature and the joy of motorcycling!
Leaving the water features of the Plitvice Lakes behind us, we make our way towards the Dalmatian coast, where the vibrant city of Split is waiting to be discovered by you. Picturesque villages in spectacular landscapes give way to spectacular views of the sea and picturesque bays along the coast.
Split is a city rich in history, culture and natural beauty. The mixture of ancient ruins, charming streets and lively atmosphere makes it a popular tourist destination in Croatia. The heart of the city is Diocletian's Palace, which was built in the 4th century AD by the Roman Emperor Diocletian. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and today houses stores, restaurants and apartments. So there are plenty of reasons to leave your motorcycle in the garage and take a break.
We leave Split and once again pass picturesque bays and historic towns such as Dubrovnik before crossing the border into Bosnia & Herzegovina, only to enter Croatia and finally Montenegro a short time later. Montenegro is a country with a rich history, breathtaking nature and a unique cultural diversity. It is a popular destination for nature lovers, adventurers and culture vultures alike. Our destination for the day, Tivat, is located in the world-famous Bay of Kotor. In addition to Porto Montenegro, which is one of the most exclusive marinas in the Mediterranean, the historical sights and natural attractions of the region are also very appealing.
We pass the border with Albania, known for its untouched nature, sandy beaches on the Adriatic, lakes and steep mountains. We pass the Albanian capital of Tirana to reach Karpen, the start and end point of the International GS Trophy 2022 and today's stage finish.
We cross Albania from west to east and make our way to the picturesque shores of Lake Ohrid in North Macedonia. Lake Ohrid is the second largest lake on the Balkan Peninsula and one of the oldest surviving lakes in the world. Experience the breathtaking scenery, impressive culture and historical treasures of both countries.
The last border crossing of this trip takes us to the land of the gods. Greece is fascinating not only culturally, but also with its beautiful natural landscapes. Secluded bays, deep blue water, white beaches, green hills and impressive mountain formations characterize the scenery. Situated on high cliffs in the province of Thessaly, the Meteora monasteries are among the most impressive sights on the Greek mainland. The complex consists of 24 individual monasteries and hermitages built on huge sandstone cliffs. Explore ancient monasteries perched on bizarre rock formations and immerse yourself in the mystical atmosphere of Meteora.
Impressed by the majestic beauty of the Greek mountains and their mystical treasures, we now head for the coast. We leave the Greek mainland and the ferry takes us to the idyllic island of Corfu. Our destination is Corfu Town (Kerkyra). The capital of the island is home to a wonderful old town with Venetian flair, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007. It is not only rich in interesting buildings, but also invites you to store and enjoy.
On the last day of our trip, we explore the greenest of the Greek islands by motorcycle. Corfu can boast the most beautiful city in Greece and offers beaches for every taste. This round trip offers a wonderful mix of coastal beauty, picturesque villages and historical sites. A perfect end to this epic motorcycle adventure.
Have a safe journey home! We hope to see you again soon on one of our tours.
